Hey there everybody. My name is Derek. I'm a writer based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
I talk about movies a lot. Wrote a thesis and everything.

THINGS I DO

I run a film criticism website called Dim the House Lights with my friend Juan.
Here's everything I've ever written there.

Juan and I also have a podcast called Stuck in the Middle With You.
We watch a movie with a 50% Rotten Tomatoes score and we talk about it.
I think our episode on John Woo's Hard Target is a great place to start.

I also have a different movie podcast with my friend and DtHL contributor Isabelle called Middlebrow Madness.
We put the IMDb Top 250 films of all time into a single-elimination bracket and have them duke it out until a champion is crowned.

I also have a podcast with my friend Matt called The Field Guide to Canadiana.
We talk about Canadian things in more detail than they probably deserve. Here's one about bagged milk.

I also have a blog where I write things that are silly and share things I find cool.
